Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan has accused the previous government of misappropriating Rs 4,000 crore in the implementation of Jaljeevan Mission.
The authorities laid the pipeline without revealing where the water would come from.
Pawan Kalyan was speaking at the Jal Jeevan Mission state-level workshop organized by the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Departments in Vijayawada.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that his government had asked Union Minister CR Patil to sanction Rs 70,000 crore for the Jal Jeevan Mission after coming to power. The Union Minister asked the officials to submit Detailed Project Report (DPR).
The DPR will be submitted to the Union Minister by the end of January.
Jal Jeevan Mission will be strengthened. Priority will be given to solving the water supply problem. Modi’s dream is to provide an average of 55 liters of water to every person. This mission was launched with the objective of providing continuous water to every body,” said Pawan Kalyan.
