A chilly morning prevailed across Telangana, with 25 districts recording temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius

On Tuesday, December 17, Telangana was hit by cold weather as temperatures dropped sharply across the state. 25 out of 33 districts recorded minimum temperature below 10 degrees Celsius. According to data provided by the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), Hyderabad, the state capital, experienced a chilly morning with the temperature dropping to 10.3 degrees Celsius.

According to the data, Adilabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 5.9 degrees Celsius, followed by Sangareddy and Nirmal at 6.7 degrees Celsius. Rangareddy reported 6.8 degrees Celsius and Vikaravada and Kamareddy both reported 6.9 degrees Celsius.

Cold has also increased in some other districts. Kumaram Bhim Asifabad reported 7.1°C, Siddipet 7.6°C, Medak 7.8°C and Rajanna Sarsilla and Medchal Malkajgiri 8.2°C each. Jagtial and Mahbubnagar recorded 8.5°C and 8.6°C respectively, Nizamabad recorded 8.8°C and Hanamkonda 8.9°C.

Nagarkurnool and Mancherial recorded temperatures of 9.1°C, Warangal at 9.4°C, and Mulugu and Jayashankar Bhupalpally at 9.5°C. Narayanpet 9.6 degrees Celsius, Peddapally 9.7 degrees, Yaddri Bhongir 9.8, Karimnagar 9.9, Jangaon 10 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the remaining eight districts are experiencing cold conditions as the temperature remains above 10 degrees Celsius, though it is slightly warmer. Hyderabad recorded 10.3 degrees Celsius, Nalgonda (10.4 degrees Celsius), and Mahbubabad (10.5 degrees Celsius). Jogulamba Gadwal and Wanaparthi recorded 10.9 degrees Celsius, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam recorded 11.2 degrees Celsius and 11.3 degrees Celsius respectively. Suryapet state recorded the highest minimum temperature at 12.1 degrees Celsius.
