Kakinada: Suravaram Divanam, a contractor from Pithapuram, raised a ruckus at the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) program organized by Kakinada District Collector S Shanmohan on Monday.
The contractor submitted an application to the District Collector asking him to provide Rs 160,000 for the work he had completed. Shanmohan replied that his bills would be cleared after the state government released the funds.
However, the Pithapuram Municipal Commissioner said that there was an objection to the contractor’s bill and it should be clarified.
Because of this, the contractors have become angry and have been roaming around the office for the past seven months for their payment. But his payment has not come. Some TDs and YSRC leaders have promised to settle his bills if he is paid 5-10 percent commission. The contractor used some unparliamentary words.
The police intervened and took him away.
Later, contractor Divanam told the Deccan Chronicle that Jan Sena workers mocked him when he was trying to clear bills at a grievance cell meeting. The ridicule enraged him and he used unparliamentary words against the JS members.
