A petrol tanker overturned on Monday (December 16, 2024), spilling petrol on the road between Allugaddabavi and Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad. It is said that the accident happened around 11:30 in the morning due to a tire burst.

The Telangana Disaster Response and Fire Services Department was immediately alerted which was rushed to the spot by fire control officers along with three fire tenders at 11:47 am.Water and foam were used to secure the area and prevent any potential fire hazards. Hyderabad traffic police were also present at the spot for security.
“Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported. We have stopped traffic on this stretch to avoid slips and skids,” said a local traffic police officer.
Due to the incident, traffic was blocked in the area for about an hour after vehicles diverted to alternate routes.
Around 12:30 in the afternoon, the overturned tanker number AP 29 W 0893 was removed from the road and normal traffic was gradually resumed. Gopalpuram police have registered a case. Officials are investigating the incident to find out the exact cause of the tire burst.
