Delhi Police has traced a student to a bomb threat email at a Paschim Vihar school

According to the police, the student had sent the threatening email to his own school and after tracing the IP address, the police team traced it to his home.

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has identified a private school student responsible for sending bomb threat emails to a school in Paschim Vihar, police said. According to the police, the student had sent the threatening email to his own school and after tracing the IP address, the police team traced it to his home. On questioning, the child admitted the act and was later counselled. He was released with a warning to his parents to monitor his behavior.

According to the Special Cell, this person is not linked to the group bomb threat email sent to several schools in Delhi on Friday.

Earlier today, several schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails.

“Today again bomb threat emails were received to schools in Delhi including DPS RK Puram, Ryan International School, Vasant Kunj,” Delhi Police said.

According to the police, the school received a mass mail at 6:12 this morning.

“A group email was received at the school at 6:12 this morning in the name of Barry Allah, (email is secure),” police added.

The school informed the Delhi Police after receiving a bomb threat email. Delhi Police, bomb detection squad and fire brigade officials rushed to the spot after receiving a tip-off but so far nothing suspicious has been found, officials said.

On Friday, Southeast Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ravi Kumar Singh said bomb threat emails had been received in 30 schools across Delhi.

The DCP said an investigation into the fake threat revealed that emails sent to schools originated outside the country.

After receiving the information, the school was evacuated and the bomb disposal team checked the place.

The threatening emails have raised concerns among parents and staff, although police have assured that the investigation is ongoing and that safety remains their priority. So far, no explosives or dangerous materials have been found in any school.

This is not the first instance of such threats disrupting schools in the national capital, underscoring the need for stronger security protocols.

The schools that received threats on Friday include Bhatnagar Public School in Paschim Vihar, Cambridge School in Srinivaspuri, Delhi Public School in East of Kailash and Delhi Public School in Defense Colony. Earlier, more than 40 schools in the national capital received bomb threats through emails demanding a ransom of 30,000 US dollars. This email arrived on December 8 at approximately 11:38 p.m.

Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Friday expressed grave concern over frequent bomb threats targeting schools in the national capital. Kejriwal questioned the possible psychological and educational impact on children and said such incidents could hamper their studies and well-being if they persisted.

Earlier on November 19, the Delhi High Court had directed the Delhi government and the Delhi Police to develop a detailed action plan including a detailed standard operating procedure (SOP) to deal with bomb threats and related emergencies. The court has set a time limit of eight weeks to comply with these directions.
