The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana has a zero-tolerance approach to any kind of fraud and a three-tier grievance redressal system exists at the district, state and national levels to address such cases, the Lok Sabha was told. Friday.
Responding to a query about unnecessary surgeries being carried out by hospitals paneled under the PM-J-Ayushman Bharat scheme in Gujarat, Minister of State for Health Prataprav Jadhav said in a written reply that an FIR has been registered against the hospital on November 12. and associated doctors.
He said the hospital and associated doctors have been suspended from Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
The minister said that till November 25, a total of 18,184 complaints have been registered in the Central Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System (CGRMS) on issues such as denial of treatment, admission, discharge or charges of medicines and non-availability of the Prime Minister. Arogya Mitra (PMAM), etc.
“AB-PMJAY ensures quality healthcare to the scheme beneficiaries. The scheme is governed with a zero tolerance approach to any form of fraud and abuse and various steps have been taken to prevent, detect and deter various types of frauds that may occur in the scheme at various stages of its implementation. ,β Jadhav said.
A National Anti-Fraud Unit has been established in the National Health Authority and works in close coordination with the State Anti-Fraud Units to investigate and take joint action on cases of fraud and abuse. Appropriate action will be taken, including suspension, show cause notices, warning letters, listing of hospitals, deactivation of e-cards, imposition of fines on erring hospitals and registration of FIRs against fraudulent institutions, he said.
Under AB-PMJAY, a three-tier grievance redressal system has been created at the district, state and national levels to address the issues faced by the beneficiaries in the utilization of health services, he said.
