Gorakhpur:
In Kushinagar, masked intruders brutally murdered a class 10 student while she was sleeping at home, police said on Saturday. Three people have been arrested in this connection.
According to them, on Friday night, Priya Singh and her father Jainarayan Singh were sleeping in their house in Nauka Tola area, while other family members had gone out for Chhath Puja.
According to the police, masked intruders entered the house and cut Priya Singh’s throat and also attacked her father with sharp weapons.
Jainarayan Singh’s hand was injured in the attack, they said, adding that the assailants fled when the man raised an alarm.
The police sent Priya Singh’s body for post-mortem.
Based on the written complaint, a case was registered against three people including 48-year-old Keswar Singh. Madan Singh, 40; Additional Superintendent of Police Ritesh Kumar Singh informed that 40-year-old Kishore Kushwaha and all of them were arrested on Saturday.
Officials said police are intensifying their investigation to find out the cause of the attack.
