Live News Updates of Farmers Protest in Delhi Today: Security has been tightened for the farmers’ march on the Haryana and Punjab border in the capital New Delhi today. Traffic is likely to be affected due to security arrangements at the border and central parts of Delhi.

What are the arrangements? Haryana Police has added three layers of barricading towards Punjab. Traffic barricades with wire mesh and wheels were added and tents erected. Seven layers of barricading include walls, iron nails, barbed wire, etc. Meanwhile, the Punjab Police has also increased its strength towards the Shambhu border as the crowd has increased there.

Why are farmers protesting? Farmers are mainly seeking legal guarantees of minimum support prices for crops. In addition to this, they have also demanded loan waiver, pension for farmers and agricultural workers, electricity tariff should not be increased.
