Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Kirodi Lal Meena on Wednesday claimed that an “intelligence report” he said would derail the government’s upcoming showpiece Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit, which is scheduled to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the Prime Minister’s second meeting on December 17.
Talking to reporters on Wednesday, Meena said, “Intelligence reports have come that Dr. Kirodi Lal is trying to disrupt the Rising Rajasthan (Investment Summit). This is a very embarrassing report from the intelligence (bureau). Can I do this when I am a minister? I am a dedicated party worker and have been in politics for 50 years. Can I do something so stupid?”
The investment summit is scheduled in Jaipur between December 9 and 11, and will be inaugurated and addressed by the Prime Minister.
Meena claimed that “reports say that Dr Kirodi will disrupt the summit through farmers or victims of paper leaks. Safari worker (Cleaner) and he will also block the Prime Minister’s rally on the 17th.”
He has said that he has worked together with Prime Minister Modi and said that ‘even if I am an MLA or a minister, I cannot do such dirty work’. My party is my mother, and her son Bhajanlal is the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. I cannot attack a brother as the intelligence claims. If you have to fight, you have to fight forward and openly like Maharana Pratap. As my brother was stabbed in the back in Dausa, I will not stab him in the back.” He also claimed that some officials tried to create a rift between him and the Chief Minister.
Meena’s brother Jagmohan Meena had recently lost the Dausa Assembly by-election, both claiming sabotage by some party workers. Ever since the results of the Lok Sabha elections, Kirodi Meena has been angry. He has also submitted his resignation from the post of Cabinet Minister to the Chief Minister.
