All hotels in Malda district will ban guests from our neighboring countries,” Malda Hotels Association secretary Krishenendu Chaudhary said on Wednesday.
Mentioning the reason behind this move, Chaudhary further said, “Ours is a district bordering Bangladesh and there are two reasons for our decision. After the upheaval in Bangladesh, we fear that miscreants and terrorists may enter India with fake documents. They can try to stay in our hotel. This raises questions about the nation’s security and hotel owners, we may face problems from the police. “
Condemning the desecration of the Indian flag, he said, ‘Secondly, we have seen how our national flag is insulted and insulted even by students in Bangladesh. It hurts us and it is not acceptable. This is not the work of a sane citizen of any country. We condemn it. We will have to bear some financial loss but the country comes first.
Recently, a private hospital in Kolkata and several senior doctors from Bengal announced that they would no longer treat patients from Bangladesh.

After the arrest of ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das and atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh, there have been protests in various parts of Bengal. Das was arrested by the Bangladesh police on November 25 on charges of sedition and produced in court a day later. The court remanded him to prison for preliminary investigation. On Tuesday, Das was produced in a Chattogram court, but his bail hearing was adjourned till January 2 as no lawyer was present on his behalf.
