BJP urges govt to ensure safety of Hindus in Bangladesh, ISKCON | India news

The issue of atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh resonated in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, with BJP members urging the government to ensure the safety of Hindus and ISKCON followers in the neighboring country.

Raising the issue at Zero Hour, BJP’s Hema Malini said, “I am deeply saddened to see what is happening to our Hindus and Hindu temples in Bangladesh, especially ISKCON and its devotees. Hindu temples are constantly being attacked…

Malini said that International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was established all over the world and today there are almost a thousand centers. “He is known for spreading Vedic culture and spreading Krishna consciousness and peace all over the world,” said Malini, who represents the Mathura Lok Sabha constituency. “I appeal to the Government of India to immediately stop the attacks on Hindus and temples in Bangladesh and ensure that all ISKCON devotees, including Chinmay Krishna Das, are released from jail and that the sedition case is dropped.”

BJP MP Dilip Saikia representing Assam’s Darang-Udalguri constituency and Ujjain MP Anil Feroziah also raised the issue in the Lok Sabha.
