Kakinada: Christmas festival was celebrated grandly in Godavari district on Wednesday. The churches were filled with Christians, and the atmosphere was one of joy, love and unity. Christians decorate their homes with handmade crafts, twinkling lights and Santa Claus toys. Churches were decorated with vibrant lights, and pastors led prayers praising the Lord.
In Kakinada, Telugu Desam leader G Chandra Mouli celebrated Christmas by distributing cakes to people. Many churchgoers stopped vehicles on the way and distributed cakes to passers-by, while children were delighted to see pictures of Santa Claus.
District Collector S. Shan Mohan (Kakinada), R. Mahesh Kumar (Konsee), P. Prasanthi (East Godavari), Ch. Nagrani (West Godavari), K. Vetri Selvi (Eluru), and Ministers Kandula Durgesh and Vasamshetty Subhash participated in the Christmas celebrations and wished the Christians of their respective areas.
