In Karimnagar, Congress leaders, led by DCC president and Manakonder MLA Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, paid floral tributes to Ambedkar’s statue at Adalat Chaurasta and then took out a tribute march at Indira Chowk.
Speaking on the occasion, Congress leaders alleged that it was unfortunate that Union Home Minister Amit Shah made such derogatory remarks to Ambedkar who worked tirelessly on the drafting of the Constitution.
When countries around the world praise our constitution, it is shameful for Amit Shah to insult its creator. It is unfortunate that the BJP government has not responded to Shah’s comments.
BJP leaders sitting as MPs in Lok Sabha are attacking the constitution. An ST and SC atrocity case should be filed against Amit Shah for his derogatory remarks against Ambedkar, they said.
Amit Shah’s comments hurt the sentiments of the weaker sections. He should tender an unconditional apology to all of them and the BJP should immediately remove him from the post of home minister, otherwise Congress leaders and people from all sections will teach the BJP a lesson, they warned.
