Prashant Neil reveals ‘feeling disappointed’ about Prabhas’ Salaar: ‘Sequel will definitely be my best work’ | Telugu News

In 2014, Prashanth Neel made an impressive debut with the Kannada film, Ugramam, starring Srimurli and Haripriya. Ten years later, he remade the Kannada film as his Telugu debut, Salaar, starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. When asked why he decided to direct the film after the duo’s blockbuster success before the release of ‘Saalar’ KGF Films, Prashant said, “I wanted to fill the theaters and show that story to a lot of people.” On the first anniversary of the release of Salaar, Prashant was once again asked in an exclusive interview whether that wish came true. “To be honest, I’m still not completely happy,” he said.

Elaborating on why his vision for Salaar didn’t materialize properly, Prashant said, “I’m a little disappointed with how hard I worked in the first part, and… well, I don’t know if I was satisfied coming in. KGF 2 closed. However, ever since Salaar released, I decided to make Salaar 2 one of my best films.”

Sharing his confidence in his ability to deliver on his promise, the filmmaker added, “The writing I have put into the film is perhaps one of my best works. I will deliver more than I thought and more than the audience now. Very few things in my life make me so confident.” Salaar 2 is undoubtedly my best work.

Even though the film has not gone on floors yet Salar 2 Prabhas, Prithviraj, Ishwari Rao, Shruti Haasan, Bobby Simha and Jagapathi Babu are set to bring back the original lead cast.
