Mumbai News Live Updates: Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar and other MLAs met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis this morning as the Cabinet portfolio is likely to be announced today. As the chief ministers of the previous coalition government were dismissed, there is a possibility that there will be a heavy discussion on the division of departments.

Ahead of the expansion of the state cabinet, Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party leaders have discussed key departments like home, urban development department, revenue and housing. The Eknath Shinde-led army was earlier interested in the home department, while the NCP is eyeing housing and industry.

How is the weather today? Mumbai’s struggle with pollution continued on Saturday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 152, which was categorized as ‘moderate’. Over the past few weeks, the city has consistently experienced ‘moderate’ air quality. However, conditions deteriorated sharply on Wednesday when the AQI reached 225, dangerously close to the ‘poor’ category. The Bombay High Court held that a pollution-free environment is a constitutional right and pulled up the Maharashtra government for failing to address the issue of air pollution.
