IIM Sambalpur has announced a strategic change in its admission process, deciding to conduct the exercise independently for the MBA program in 2025-2026.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Sambalpur has announced a strategic change in its admission process, deciding to conduct exercises independently for the MBA program in the academic year 2025-2026, an official said.
He said that the same admission process will be applied to the recently launched course of MBA in Business Analytics.

“This new admission process by IIM-Sambalpur exemplifies the institution’s commitment to foster a more holistic admissions experience through direct interaction with candidates,” it said in a statement.
“Through this process, candidates are provided with flexible options to participate in personal interview either in physical or virtual mode,” it said.

IIM-Sambalpur ensures that admissions are based on merit using the aggregate of CAT 2024 score, academic record, work experience and gender balance, the release said.

“… With the introduction of this new and independent admission process, IIM-Sambalpur has chosen to conduct its MBA admission process independently like previous generation IIMs, allowing prospective candidates to be interviewed directly by the institute. Our aim is to provide a more tailored and seamless experience for applicants, aligning with our vision of nurturing talent and fostering innovation,” institute director Prof Mahadev Jaiswal said in a statement.
