Gujarat CM warns against corrupt practices in conference with Collectors, DDOs Ahmedabad news

“The system is permanent and not the people or their posts”, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel insisted on Friday as he warned against corrupt practices in a conference with Collectors and District Development Officers (DDOs).

“Multiple interpretations of circulars and notifications issued by the government in various districts”, which officials say, “may be indicative of corrupt practices”, was one of the issues raised by the chief minister, a government release said.

“Government circulars or rules should not be interpreted differently in districts. If there is something that cannot be done according to the rules, a clear reason why it cannot be done must be given,” said Patel in the statement.

He instructed the District Officers to make arrangements so that the problems of the common people would be solved at their own level and they would not have to come to the platform.

SWAGAT (Statewide Attention to Grievances through Application of Technology) is a state-level grievance redressal interface which is chaired by the Chief Minister once a month.

He also asked the officials to visit the field frequently to get information about complaints and grievances. “At the same time, take feedback on the behavior and conduct of officials and employees and actively move towards good governance,” he said.
