Warangal: To improve local governance and address the needs of residents, the state government has planned to establish five new panchayats in Mangapet mandal of Mulugu district.
District Collector TS Diwakar directed the officials to prepare detailed reports and images highlighting the geographical features of the proposed panchayats. These documents have been submitted for state approval.
At present, there are 25 panchayats in Mangapet mandal, which will increase to 30 with additions. The proposed panchayats include Thondyala Lakshmipuram, Narendraopeta, Shanigakunta, Jabbonigudem and Abaigudem. Nearby settlements like Regulagudem, Gandigudem, Mothalagudem and BC Colony will also be restructured.
It is said that the new panchayat will be finalized before the local body elections.
