5 dead, 27 injured as bus carrying family to wedding overturns in Raigad Mumbai News

Five people, including three women, died and 27 others were injured when the private bus they were traveling in overturned in Raigad, Maharashtra, on Friday morning.

Its passengers – members of a Jadhav family – were on their way from Lohegaon in Pune to Birwadi in Mahad to attend a wedding when the accident occurred. The deceased have been identified as Sangeeta Jadhav, Gaurav Darade, Shilpa Pawar, Vandana Jadhav and an unidentified man.

An official said they will soon register an FIR against the bus driver whose negligence is believed to have caused the accident.

Raigad Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge informed that at around 9:30 in the morning, the driver of the private bus of Purple Travels lost control in the Tamhini Ghat area. “Two men and three women died. The other 27 injured have been taken to Mangaon Rural Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment,” Gharge said.

An official said they will soon register an FIR against the bus driver whose negligence is believed to have caused the accident.
