Officials said on Thursday that a 25-year-old worker died of suffocation after he went to clean the area near the boiler at a milk processing plant near Himmatnagar town in Sabarkantha district.
Two other people who fainted while trying to rescue laborer Kirpalsingh Jala are also being treated in the hospital. They said that the exact cause of death is yet to be revealed.
Officials at Saber Dairy, where the incident took place, have ruled out the possibility of a gas leak.
“We reached the spot after learning that three people were admitted to the hospital after they fainted while working near Baylor. One of them has died and two others are undergoing treatment. An investigation is underway, said Deputy Superintendent of Police AK Patel. Sabar Dairy Managing Director Subhash Patel said that such an incident has happened for the first time at the facility. “Since the installation of the boiler six years ago, no such incident has happened,” he said.
