Warangal: Justice Shamim Akhtar, head of the one-member commission on Scheduled Caste (SC) classification, announced on Thursday that a detailed report would be prepared based on the petitions and requests received. This report will be submitted to the state government after the public inquiry on the sub-categorization of Scheduled Castes held at the Collectorate Conference Hall in Hanamkonda.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Akhtar said that the commission has received 135 petitions and requests from various scheduled caste community organizations of the erstwhile Warangal district.
He said that the commission had visited all the regions of the state and collected petitions and requests from various scheduled caste organizations. The approach is to provide recommendations and ensure a thorough analysis of issues related to SC classification and related matters before submitting a detailed report to the government.
Later, Justice Shamim Akhtar accompanied the Commission officials to interact with the Scheduled Caste residents at SC Colony in Subbayyapalli village of Hasanparthi mandal. During the visit, he took information about the availability of basic facilities and infrastructure as well as the problems and challenges faced by the community. He advised the local residents to inform the concerned authorities if they have any problems.
