Revanth Reddy promised to support book reading culture

For the first time in a decade, the Chief Minister arrived at the NTR Stadium to inaugurate the 37th edition of the Hyderabad Book Fair.

At the inauguration ceremony on Thursday, CM A Revanth Reddy said that those who got political power, got more fame than those who actually fought for the new state.

“There has been a certain distortion of the Telangana struggle. Those who lost their lives during the agitation have been ignored. The armed peasant struggle, the first and second phases of the Telangana movement have also been distorted to some extent,” Mr Reddy said.

“For the last 10 years some people have been preaching that the history written in their favor is the real history. To recognize the role played by Suravaram Pratap Reddy, we named the Telugu University. Like Kaloji and Dasharathi, many poets inspired the first Telangana movement and we have placed them on a pedestal with poets like Ande Sri, Guda Anjaiah and Gaddar,” the Chief Minister said, pledging all possible support to the book-reading culture and reading habit. the way “The provincial government will give due respect to the book fair organized to explain the true history”, he said.

This year’s Hyderabad Book Fair has 350 stalls with religious texts as well as rare books and used books. For the first time, the State Library has set up a stall to showcase what it has to offer. The book fair will be open from noon to 9 pm till 29th of January
