Hyderabad: A 39-year-old man was killed and his teenage daughter was seriously injured after being hit by a speeding vehicle on NH44 in Shamsabad police station limits. Although the incident happened on Tuesday, it was made public only on Thursday.
According to Shamsabad police, the deceased K. Kumar took his daughter Shruti from the examination center. When approaching the Thondupalli railway bridge, the truck, which was driven carelessly and recklessly, hit the motorcycle of the deceased from behind. Both of them fell from the motorcycle due to the collision. Kumar died on the spot after suffering severe head injuries. Shruti is slightly injured.
After getting information about the incident, Venkatesh, a person from the same village, informed Kumar’s brother Yadaiya. He rushed to the scene, where he found his brother dead. Shruti was taken to a hospital in the city, where she is currently undergoing treatment, police said.
The body has been kept at the mortuary for post-mortem. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway. Attempts are being made to arrest the absconding truck driver.
