Information and Public Relations Minister Colusu Parthasarathy said that doing a deep research on the importance of the temple, place and area will help in the development of the local area.
The minister said this while releasing the revised version of the English version of the book ‘Architecture and Art of Vijayanagara-Lepakshi’ written by writer and historian Maina Swamy, a resident of Gorantala in Sri Sathya Sai district. The program was held on Thursday (December 19) at the secretariat in Vijayawada.
The minister expressed his belief that Maina Swamy will write more books that will benefit the society.
Recently, ‘Architecture and Art of Vijayanagara Lepakshi’ was awarded the Best Promotional Book Award by the Department of Tourism, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Sri Maina Swami also published a book titled ‘Prachin Alayala Vaibhogam’, which is based on the research of famous ancient temples located in Sri Sathya Sai District, Puttaparthi.
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Lepakshi Temple in January, Mr. Maina Swamy acted as a translator, sharing insights into the history of Vijayanagar and the significance of the temple.
The historian said that he is currently researching various aspects of the Vijayanagara Empire, including its history, culture, inscriptions, architectural marvels, religious practices, and temple designs, and plans to publish his findings in several languages ββin the near future.
