Writer MT Vasudevan Nair suffers heart attack, critical condition

Renowned writer and Malayalam director MT Vasudevan Nair is in critical condition, and has been admitted to Baby Memorial Hospital on Friday, December 20, 2024.

According to the medical bulletin issued by the hospital, the diagnosis is cardiac arrest requiring intensive care to optimize heart function and stabilize vital parameters.

For decades, Mr. Nair has been the preeminent deity of Malayalam fiction. With his powerful contemporaries, OV Vijayan and Madhavi Kutty (Kamala Das) gone, MT is inescapable as the lone superstar of Malayalam letters.
