India’s real GDP fell to a two-year low of 5.4 percent in the July-September quarter of the current fiscal year. The slowdown was mainly due to weak output growth and muted investment, including government capital expenditure. Bharat Inc’s performance in the July-September quarter remained weak. There has been some increase in rural consumption while urban consumption has decreased.
