MNM President Kamal Haasan on Thursday (December 19, 2024) said that every Indian who proudly believes and fights for Dr BR Ambedkar’s vision of a free and just India, where all are born equal, can never tolerate the legend’s legacy to be tarnished.
His comments came in the backdrop of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks against Dr Ambedkar in Parliament.
Mr. Haasan said: “Ambedkar’s ideas are the building blocks of modern India. Gandhi freed India from foreign oppression, Dr. Ambedkar freed India from its own age-old shackles of social injustice. As a modern and ethical global power, we commemorate 75 years since the passing of our constitution with meaningful discussions, debates and discussions. Ambedkar’s Thoughts in the Honorable Hall of Parliament. These ideas should inspire progress instead of being abused to offend the feelings of his followers, among whom I am proud to count myself.”
