The Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj has allocated Rs 177.85 crore for 34 bridges.

CHENNAI: The State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department has issued a government order allocating ₹ 177.85 crore for the construction of 34 bridges under state funds for the financial year 2024-25.

The amount will be provided through the financial assistance of NABARD-Rural Infrastructure Development Fund. This step was taken as per the instructions of Chief Minister MK Stalin.

Ungal Thoguthial Muthlamaichar initiative (24 bridges), 5/5 for flood affected areas and 34 bridges will be given priority based on the applications received for solving communication problems.

The construction of bridges with a total length of 1977.20 meters will be done in 18 districts including Coimbatore, Dindigul, Cuddalore.
