Nehru College of Management (NCM) Coimbatore organized a national level inter-college cultural conference for undergraduate students. Named Genesis 2024, the cultural conference was organized by the Students Development Council (SDC). The event attracted over 3,200 students from 57 colleges across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.

The inaugural function held on February 9, 2024 set the stage for a day of excitement with renowned cinematographers and YouTubers VJ Saasi Selvaraj and VJ Arun Kumar as chief guests. Sharing stories from their college days, they inspired the young audience by highlighting the importance of creativity and cultural engagement alongside academics. Adding to the star power were guests from the movie Bairi, including director John Glady, lead actors Syed Majeed and Meghna Elan and music composer Arun Raj.

NCM Principal Dr R Moses Daniel welcomed the audience, while Nehru Group of Institutions CEO and Secretary Dr P Krishnakumar delivered the inaugural address. Their words underscored the program’s mission to promote holistic development among students, an official statement said.

On this day, 14 competitive programs were held, ranging from music and dance to short films and face painting. Highlights included mass dancing, music and a fashion show. The students showcased their talent and received Rs 3 lakh cash and trophies.

In addition to student competitions, Genesis 2024 featured electrifying live performances by guest artists. A skit from the movie Bairi, its director and actors mesmerized the audience, presenting an inspiring display of professional artistry.

The event culminated in a grand closing ceremony, with the winners applauded and applauded for their efforts. A special presentation by NCM’s cultural troupe added a fitting finale to the day. The organizing committee expressed its gratitude to all the participants, volunteers and sponsors and promised to continue the cultural engagement through the upcoming events.
