Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio team up for Karate Kids: Legends. Watch the trailer Hollywood News

Action-film legend Jackie Chan has teamed up with the original Karate Kid, Ralph Macchio, for the upcoming Karate Kid: Legends. Sony Pictures recently dropped a trailer for the film featuring Chan, Macchio and Ben Wang. She is known for works such as Young Chang Can Dunk and American Born Chinese. He will be collaborating with the biggest names in the Karate Kid universe and will need to fill some big shoes. Chan’s last stint in this universe was in the 2010 remake, which starred Jaden Smith as the lead character.

While The Snake in The Eagle’s Shadow Star returns after a long hiatus, Macchio is going strong, playing Daniel LaRusso in the spin-off Cobra Kai. The second part of the sixth season dropped on November 15, and the show has earned a lot of love and support from all viewers. The release of the film was further delayed as the makers did not want it to clash with Cobra Kai.

The film’s trailer shows Ben Wang’s character struggling to make a place for himself after moving from Beijing to New York with his mother. The story repeats the original story with the hope of adding something new to it at the same time. Han (Jackie Chan) goes to Daniel (Ralph Macchio), asking Lee (Ben Wang) for help training him for a tournament and learning the underlying ideas and lessons that martial arts carry.

A ‘walk on, walk off’ meeting ‘pick up your jacket’ looks like a promising recipe, but there is still some doubt in the air. This story has been told many times, and many are a gross understatement. If the story doesn’t deliver one has to wonder if the film’s star power will be enough to get it over the line.

Daniel LaRusso, Julie Pearce, Dre Parker, and now Lee Fong. The story of martial arts saving young and troubled minds is an inspiring story, but it carries a lot of pressure. All we can do now is wait for the franchise’s next adventure.

The film is all set to hit your screens on May 30, 2025.
