Raipur: About half a dozen senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activists held a marathon meeting with Chief Minister Bishnu Dev Sai at his official residence here on Tuesday night, fueling speculation of a major reshuffle in the state ministry and a complete overhaul of the Chhattisgarh unit. of the BJP.
Union sources said on Wednesday that the meeting started at 6 pm on Tuesday and lasted for almost five hours.
“There were 21 items on the agenda for discussion in the meeting. The main agendas included the work of ministers in the Vishnu Dev Sai government, state administration, governance, and restructuring of the state BJP’s organizational elections, which are likely to end later this year,” a senior RSS official disclosed to this newspaper, unwilling to be quoted.
In fact, a team of senior RSS functionaries has been camping in Raipur for the past four days to prepare the agenda for the meeting. They are interacting with the senior leaders of the party to get information about the political situation in the state.
Among the RSS workers who got close to the Chief Minister at the marathon meeting on Tuesday night were Arun Singh, Co-Karyavah Sangh Minister (Joint General Secretary), Deepak Vispute, Buddh Prakham (RSS intellectual wing head), Swapnil. Kulkarni, Regional Preacher (Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh), and Prem Singh Sidar, Co-Regional Preacher (Jabalpur).
In the meeting, the working of the Bishnu Dev Sai Ministry and the provincial administration were discussed, sources said.
Sources said that the meeting was held because of the dispute within the state party regarding the working style of some state ministers, slowness in development work and lack of coordination between the state party and the government.
In the meeting, the election of the provincial party chairman and other officials, which is expected to be held within the next two weeks, was also discussed.
“A major reshuffle in the state ministry is on the cards based on the inputs gathered by the RSS team. A major reshuffle in the state bureaucracy is also expected to improve governance,” the RSS leader said.
