OnePlus 13R is now official: From bigger battery to slimmer design, here’s everything we know so far Technology News

OnePlus has announced that it will be launching the OnePlus 13R, the second member of the OnePlus 13 series, on January 7, 2025.

According to OnePlus, the OnePlus 13R is re-branded with a larger iconic circular camera island. The back panel will be designed. It will be available in two colors – Nebula Noir and Astral Trail, both of which are inspired by Mother Nature and come with Gorilla Glass 7i on the front and back of the phone.

The Chinese phone maker also confirmed that the OnePlus 13R will have an aluminum frame and rear triple camera setup, which will include a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide shooter and possibly a 50MP telephoto sensor. However, as is the case with the company’s R series devices, the upcoming phone will ditch the Hasselblad branding.

While OnePlus is yet to reveal other hardware specifications, several leaks and rumors have indicated that the OnePlus 13R will feature a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen paired with Qualcomm’s flagship chipset from last year – Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

If we go by the latest Geekbench listing for model number CPH2691, it looks like the Indian version of the OnePlus 13R will be available in 12GB and 16GB RAM variants and come with up to 512GB of storage. OnePlus also said that its upcoming device will be a bit thinner – measuring just 7mm and packing a slightly larger 6,000mAh battery.

Along with the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R, the company will also unveil a new colorway for the OnePlus Buds 3 Pro and an AI translation feature. The OnePlus 13R is expected to be priced below Rs 45,000, but we suggest you take this information with a grain of salt as things may change down the line.
