Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police busted a betting racket and arrested an organizer and three sub-organizers besides 20 punters, who were illegally organizing the betting games and making easy money.
Among those arrested are 26-year-old Vishal Singh, a businessman from Jummarath Bazar, Naresh Kumar Chauhan, 24-year-old from Bahadurpura Tadbun, 22-year-old Aniketh Singh from Dhulpet and 26-year-old Akshay Singh, a laborer. A resident of Upper Dhulpet.
Task Force Additional Commissioner of Police Ande Srinivasa Rao said that Vishal Singh was the main organizer and the other three Naresh, Aniketh and Akshay were the sub-organizers. 15 mobile phones, Rs 30,760 in cash and lottery chat were recovered from the arrested persons.
Vishal Singh was not only in the business of making Ganesha idols but also running a paan shop in Jummarath Bazar. As his earnings are not enough to support his family, he plans to organize betting instead. Accordingly, he engaged three sub-organizers to earn easy money and started a Satta Gaming House by renting a room behind his paan shop.
Their main targets were auto drivers, laborers, hotel workers etc. They promised to earn easy money by playing this game. Believing them, they got addicted to the exchange of hard earned money. Based on the information, the police raided the premises and arrested them.
The police have requested the general public not to play banned games like satta, gambling, cricket betting online or offline. “If you play such illegal games, you may lose your hard earned money and face legal consequences,” the police said.
