HyderabadThe Food Safety Task Force has monitored Mahfil Biryani Darbar in Narayangowda on Tuesday. It found several hygiene and safety violations that raised serious concerns about the restaurant’s food handling practices.
During the inspection, it was found that the food handlers lacked medical records and FOSTAC certification, which are required to ensure safe food practices. The kitchen walls were greasy and black, while the floor was chipped and covered with food waste and stagnant water. Drains were blocked with food waste, which further contributed to unsanitary conditions.
Refrigerators were unclean, with food items covered but not labeled, making proper identification difficult. Management was advised to purchase TPC meters to monitor cooking oil quality. The kitchen exhaust system was oily and unclean, and the storage area was found to be poorly maintained, with racks placed directly against the walls, unclean surfaces, and some food items stored on the floor instead of on racks.
