New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan A high-level committee formed to suggest improvements to the National Testing Agency (NTA) submitted its report on Tuesday and submitted it to the Supreme Court.
Addressing the press conference, Pradhan said that 91.8 percent of schools in India now have electricity.
Addressing the press conference, Pradhan said, “…a high-level committee was formed for NTA reforms, the committee has submitted its report. I have submitted it to the Supreme Court under action report. Let me share with you some key points of the report. 53 percent schools had electricity but now 91 .8 percent of schools have electricity.”
Pradhan added that NCERT plans to publish 15 crore quality and affordable books to meet the demand of students.
“In the coming academic year, NCERT will publish 150 million quality and affordable books… In the coming academic year, students will not be financially burdened, but it will be reduced in some classes,” Pradhan said.
He said NCERT has signed MoUs with Amazon and Flipkart to sell their books at MRP on these platforms.
“By December 4, 2024, a huge sample size survey of more than 23 lakh, 87 thousand schools has been conducted under NAS. Another survey at the district level will be conducted under NAS, which will help us understand their learning outcomes and educational status,” Pradhan added.
Notably, the NEET UG 2024 exam held on May 5 has been mired in controversy following allegations of paper leaks, irregularities, and loss of time during the exam.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) was conducted on 05 May 2024 (Sunday) for more than 24 lakh candidates at 4750 different centers located in 571 cities across the country including 14 cities outside India. The re-examination of NEET (UG) 2024 was conducted on 23rd June 2024 for 1563 candidates who experienced time loss during the examination originally scheduled on 05th May 2024. (ANI)
