Visakhapatnam: Revenue, Stamp and Registration Minister Anaganai Satya Prasad has announced a plan to organize and digitize all revenue records to simplify the land registration process.
At the regional revenue conference for North Andhra district here on Tuesday, Satyaprasad emphasized the government’s commitment to provide services in a proper environment and discussed various issues.
He said that the process of re-survey will be completed only after addressing all the complaints to give justice to all the landowners. It is necessary to keep accurate records based on the survey number in each village. Any possible insider trading in respect of freehold land in Visakhapatnam area will be investigated, he said.
The Minister mentioned that the Revenue Department has been actively involved in the 33-day revenue meeting to better understand the interests of the citizens. Earlier, 6,688 villages were re-surveyed, in which some errors were noticed. Now these mistakes are being addressed from the meeting, he said.
He said that there is a plan to re-survey another 9,000 villages. At present, about 280,000 requests are received in these meetings, mainly on registration and revenue matters.
He said that the government is committed to ensure transparency by exchanging information through SMS and phone calls to prevent past mistakes in the re-survey. He said that details and maps of land will be provided in each village and ward secretariat.
The minister asked the people’s representatives to actively participate in the revenue meeting along with the officials.
Citing Visakhapatnam as an IT hub, he emphasized the need for vigilance against potential revenue issues. He encouraged the authorities to adopt a positive approach towards community involvement, calling for quick resolution of the demands of the people’s representatives and citizens.
Special Principal Secretary (Revenue) RP Sisodia asked officials to respond quickly to court cases involving revenue matters and land disputes. He advised the District Collectors to immediately resolve the issues raised by the MLCs and MLAs. Quality solutions should be provided for requests submitted through PGRS.
During the conference, MLCs and MLAs of North Andhra district discussed various issues related to revenue in their region. They advocated relaxation of Schedule 22A and called for stronger measures to protect settlements and government lands. Also, they recommended to simplify the process related to regularization of leasehold land, compensation for loss of project area and reconsideration of mutation process.
