Araku shivers at 4 degrees, tourists flock to ASR

Visakhapatnam: Several parts of the ASR agency district recorded the lowest temperature of the season on Monday, attracting many tourists to these areas.

The minimum temperature of Araku Valley is 4 degrees, Chintapalli and Lambasingi 7 degrees, GK Vidhi 7.3, Hukumpeta 7.8, Pedabayalu 9 degrees and Anantagiri 9.4 degrees Celsius.

According to the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS) at Chintapally, the primary weather station in ASR district, except Koyur, all other stations recorded single-digit temperatures.

Dense fog enveloped Chintapally, Paderu, Araku Valley, Pedabayalu, Mimumuluru, Anantagiri and a few other places in ASR district, reducing visibility to 120 meters and affecting road traffic during the morning hours.

Winter has increased in some parts of Andhra Pradesh. This is the third consecutive day of cold weather, as the minimum temperature has dropped in coastal AP and Rayalaseema regions.

About 7,000 people visited Bora Cave on Sunday and 6,500 people visited the previous day in the tourism promotion of the season.

“This season we have received thousands of tourists, most of whom are from the Andhra region. There is no place to walk on the main road,” said Neelakhantam, a taxi operator.

According to APTDC sources, a large number of people had gathered in Lambasingi, Bhanjangi and Chaprai.

They say that the temperature will continue to drop in the coming days and the crowd will increase.
