Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh on Monday (December 16, 2024) morning suspended a business notice in the Rajya Sabha demanding a discussion on the law and order situation in Delhi.

He said that Delhi has become a “crime hub”, threatening the safety of citizens, including public representatives. “I would like to draw your attention to the rapidly increasing crime and deteriorating law and order in Delhi. Delhi, which is the administrative center of the country, has now become the center of crime. The incidents happening here have created a serious threat to the safety of not only the citizens but also the public representatives,” said Singh.

In the notice, Mr. Singh referred to the alleged attack on former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on November 30, 2024, saying such incidents had created an atmosphere of “fear and insecurity” among people. “The alleged attack on former Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal on November 30, 2024 also raises serious political and public security questions,” said Mr. Singh.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Vijay Vasantha moved a notice of adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on Monday (December 16, 2024) morning to discuss the detention of Tamil Nadu fishermen by Sri Lankan authorities. β€œIn 2024 alone, 350 fishermen and 49 fishing boats were caught, which is the highest in the last six years. The government should immediately address this ongoing issue,” Congress Lok Sabha MP from Kanyakumari Mr Vasantha said in the adjournment motion notice.
