Mukesh Khanna The actor has repeatedly spoken of rejection Ranveer Singh For his iconic character Shaktimaan. In a recent interaction, the veteran actor also revealed that producer Aditya Chopra’s team had approached him to get the rights to Shaktiman, but he refused. Mukesh said that his statement that he was waiting for three hours to meet Ranveer was misunderstood. Instead, she explained that the actor spent three hours convincing her to play Shaktiman.
Addressing the misunderstanding, Khanna said, “It is wrong to say that I made him wait. He came to meet me with love. It was an arranged meeting organized by Sony, where Ranveer came to convince me that he can play Shaktiman. This is not the first time he has shown interest in this role.
Talking about YRF’s approach, the actor shared, “Ten years ago, Aditya Chopra’s team approached me, asking if I could give the rights to Shaktiman. Around that time, coincidentally, a picture of Ranveer Singh dressed as Shaktiman surfaced on social media. I gave them the rights. I refused but they offered to collaborate with me. I didn’t want to turn them into a disco drama.”

Mukesh Khanna also expressed his opinion on Ranveer Singh’s suitability for a different character in the Shaktiman universe. He revealed, ‘Ranveer is full of energy, and he spoke to me for three hours straight. He also talked about how he got his first film and how he came to play the role of Shaktimaan. I wanted to tell him about playing Tamraj Kilwish. He wanted to convince me that I can play Shaktiman. That meeting was inconclusive, he said.
Clearing the air, Mukesh reiterated, “It was a misunderstanding. I didn’t wait for him. He talked to me for three hours straight. I’m not such a great actor to keep him waiting for so long. He later returned with his promotion team, and his PR manager also told me today. Tried convincing what works in time.
