It was hosted by brothers Bobby and Sunny Deol Third edition of Screen LiveIt happened on Monday at KC College in Mumbai. The pair opened up about their professional and personal journeys, reflecting on the highs, lows and the bond that keeps them together. Bobby also shared his experience of working with his father Dharmendra in his film Dharam Veer.
Bobby, who played the role of young Dharmendra, spoke about how his father approached him with the offer. He said, ‘I was 5-6 years old. I always wanted to be an actor. My father was doing Dharma Veer at that time, and he wanted a child who looked like him. A child who had big and thick legs, but he couldn’t find one. They were getting really weak-looking babies. Then he thought I should ask my son. He asked me, ‘You will act in my film Mere Bachpan Ka Role Karega? (Acting in my film and playing my childhood role?)’ I said, ‘Haan Karunga (Yes, I will).’ When you are a child, you have no inhibitions, you have no fear, you think life is beautiful.”

Elaborating on the iconic black leather outfit she wore in the twin scenes with her dad, the Animal actor revealed, “They made this outfit for me overnight because I had to shoot the next day. I never wore underwear those days. When I was shooting, they made me this They made me dress up. I was like, ‘Why are they making me dress up?’ I asked Bhawarlal, who worked with my father, ‘Bhavarlal, mero paas chaddi nahi hai (I don’t have underwear), how do I wear this?’ They gave me a pair of shorts to wear under my dress, but it was beautiful.”
Bobby Deol also said that he wanted to get paid for his work in Dharmaveer and for that he demanded from his father Dharmendra. “I did the scene and asked my dad, ‘Where’s my money? I worked, I need my money.’ He said, ‘Oh, I give you, you shut up.’ He did not know what to say as the producer and director of the film were standing there. I sat in the car, he gave me a bundle of 10,000 notes and said, ‘Go give it to my grandmother and see that it is distributed among the employees.’

“I went home excited, I was proud of myself, and gave the money to my grandmother to share. I was so excited to break so many hangers at home to show my sisters and aunts what I had done in the film. I was on top of the world. After the film did its Golden Jubilee, I I went to the award ceremony. They made a special award for me,” added Bobby.
