Eight boys from Mohali Government Academy join Army Chandigarh News

Eight alumni of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI) at SAS Nagar (Mohali) today joined the Indian Army and Air Force.

During the passing out parade, Kritin Gupta of Ludhiana district, Bharat Sharma and Sahildeep Singh of Amritsar, Sahilpreet Singh Sandhu of Patiala, Shivkumar of Kapurthala and Uttam Malik of Bathinda have been inducted into the Indian Army. Regular Course at Indian Military Academy (IMA) 155 Dehradun. The parade was observed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Nepalese Army, Ashokraj Sigdel.

These cadets belong to the eighth course of MRSAFPI. They will soon join the Indian Army in their respective units.

Besides, two other cadets of the institute, Gursher Singh Cheema of Sangrur district and Pratham Parmar of Kapurthala, were commissioned as Flying Officers in the Indian Air Force at the 214th Joint Passing-Out Parade of the Air Force Academy (AFA) at Dundigal. Chief of the Indian Air Force Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh observed the parade.

Minister for Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Aman Arora congratulated the cadets on their commission and asked them to work hard to make Punjab proud.

MRSAFPI Director Major General Ajay H Chauhan (retd) also congratulated the cadets and called upon them to uphold the ideals of defense service.

With the commission of these eight officers, a total of 168 cadets of MRSAFPI have joined the Armed Forces of India since its inception.
