Gujarat PMJAY fraud: Absconding hospital director arrested from Rajasthan, months after case registered against him | Ahmedabad news

In another major development amid the ongoing investigation into a fraud case linked to the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana-Mukhya Mantri Amrutam (PMJAY-MA) at a reputed hospital in Ahmedabad, the Ahmedabad City Police Crime Branch (DCB) said on Saturday. Ahmedabad Bariatrics and Cosmetics Pvt Ltd Chairman Karthik Jasu Patel is absconding. It is suspected that he is in another country.

The crime branch said on Saturday that after learning that 59-year-old Kothari has relatives in the neighboring state, a team has been sent to Rajasthan to search for him.

On her address, the DCB statement said that on November 13, when three FIRs were registered, Rajshri and her husband Pradeep Kothari left for Udaipur, Rajasthan in an SUV. After staying there for five days, they went to Bhilwara. After staying in Bhilwara for 10 days, they went to Kota. After 15 days in Kota, they again left for Bhilwara where the couple was arrested in the middle of the journey.
