RRB NTPC 2024 Syllabus and Exam Pattern Overview: Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is yet to announce the exam date for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Recruitment. The recruitment drive aims to fill around 11,558 vacancies for both undergraduate and graduate posts. But before the exam date is over, let’s know about the exam pattern and syllabus.
As per the eligibility criteria for RRB NTPC 2024, candidates applying for graduate posts must have obtained graduation degree from a recognized university. For graduate posts, candidates must have completed class 12 from a recognized board.
RRB NTPC 2024: Syllabus
As per the exam pattern released by RRB, both CBT 1 and CBT 2 will consist of questions from three main sections: General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. In the General Awareness section, questions cover various topics, such as:
– Indian Politics
– Indian History (Ancient, Medieval and Modern)
– Art and Culture of India
– Geography
– Science and Technology
– Latest scientific discoveries
– Environment and Biodiversity
– Flora and Fauna
– Sports and prizes
– Indian Economy
– Major Government Schemes
– Current events

In Mathematics, the following topics are covered: Number System, Decimals, Fractions, HCF, LCM, Time, Speed and Distance, Perimeter, Algebra, Weight and Proportional Ratios among others.
Some topics in general intelligence and reasoning are: statements and inferences, analogies, coding and decoding, puzzles, data sufficiency, relationships, jumblings, maps, and series.
RRB NTPC 2024: Exam Pattern
There will be two rounds of Computer-Based Tests (CBTs) followed by Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) or Typing Skill Test (TST) depending on the position applied for. Duration of the exam will be 120 minutes with one writer for eligible PwBD candidates.
– Computer-based Aptitude Test is specially for candidates applying for Station Master (SM) posts. Candidates must qualify each test battery of the CBAT to be considered for the SM post. Question and answer options in CBAT will be available in English and Hindi only. There will be no negative marking in CBAT.
– Typing skill test is for posts like Senior Clerk cum Typist and Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist. Candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a personal computer without using editing tools or spell check features.
– For posts like Goods Train Manager and Senior Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor, candidates will go through two stages of CBT, followed by document verification and a medical examination.
Candidates will be shortlisted for various stages based on the normalized marks obtained during the CBTs, especially when multiple sessions are conducted for the same course.
