Twinkle Khanna Known for her witty and tongue-in-cheek humor, but it was her husband, Akshay Kumarwho brought their own brand wisdom to celebrate their recent achievement. Twinkle won an award in the Popular Fiction category at the Crossword Book Awards 2024 for her book Welcome to Paradise.
Akshay reposted Twinkle’s post, where she is seen proudly holding her trophy. With his trademark humour, Akshay captioned the photo, “My trophy wife – literally (laughing emoji). But she earns her accolades herself. So proud of my Crossword Popular Choice Award winner (kissing face emoji).”
Earlier, Twinkle Khanna had shared a video of her receiving the prestigious award along with a photo of the trophy placed on the table at her home next to her book. His pet dog, Mr. Jeeves, can be seen sitting next to the trophy. In the post, Twinkle also shared a hilarious anecdote about how her celebration turned into a bit of a fiasco when Mr. Jeeves ate the chocolate cake that was part of her celebration hamper.
She wrote, “Last night, Welcome to Paradise won the Crossword Book Award 2024 in the Popular Fiction category and I decided to celebrate. One of the goodies in one of the hampers was a chocolate cake. I cut off a piece, left it on the coffee table, and when I came back—Mr. Jeeves had eaten. It made a midnight dash to the vet to get my ‘celebration’ out of his stomach. These things only happen to me, so I will never run away from stories. Mr. Jeeves is a little tired but all right, and so am I.”
Twinkle Khanna’s career took a turn after her marriage to Akshay Kumar in 2001, when she decided to take a break from acting, admitting that she no longer enjoyed the profession. Since then she has been a successful author, with Welcome to Paradise and Pajamas Are Forgiving being among her most popular books. Last year, she completed her Masters in Fiction Writing at Goldsmiths, University of London, marking another milestone in her career.
