Xiaomi unveils Redmi Note 14 Pro, Pro Plus with EV-grade battery, AI features | Technology News

Xiaomi has introduced three new models of its flagship Redmi Note 14 series – the entry-level Note 14, the mid-range Note 14 Pro, and the high-end Note 14 Pro Plus – with some major upgrades such as the segment’s first 6,200mAh. EV-grade battery, double-sided Corning Guerrilla Glass, and Android 15-based Xiaomi HyperOS 2 with many AI features.

At its launch event in New Delhi on Monday, December 9, the Chinese smartphone maker showcased the latest devices in the Redmi lineup that were developed with an emphasis on AI.

Alongside the Redmi Note 14 series, the company also launched the Xiaomi Sound outdoor smart speaker, Redmi Buds 6, and an ultra-slim 4,900 mAH powerbank.

Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ has a 6,200mAH battery that guarantees up to 1,600 charging cycles without any loss of capacity. The front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and the back is Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

The 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED display is capable of a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits – making it the brightest Note yet, according to Xiaomi.

On the camera side, it has a 50MP telephoto lens with 2.5x optimal zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 50MP LightThunder 800 sensor with OIS. The device comes in Specter Blue, Phantom Purple, Titan Black and has a curved back and dual tone finish. The device will ship with a handful of editing-focused AI features like AI Image Expansion, AI Erase Pro, AI SmartClip and AI Cutout.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is priced at Rs 29,999 and will go on sale on Flipkart and Xiaomi’s website as well as retail outlets on December 13.

Redmi Note 14 Pro

Like its elder sibling, the 6.67-inch Redmi Note 14 Pro comes with a 1.5K AMOLED display and 3,000 nits of peak brightness. In terms of protection, it has Corning Gorilla Glass on the Victus 2 and is now rated IP68 + IP69 which means it can handle being submerged in 1.5 meters of water.

The Note 14 Pro will have a vegan leather finish and will be available in three colors: Phantom Purple, Ivy Green, and Titan Black.

In terms of optics, the Sony 50MP Sony LYT 600 has also been brought to the Note 14 Pro. Additionally, it has an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro sensor. The phone has a 5,500mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. The device will be eligible for more than 18 AI features through monthly updates.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro will be available at a retail price of Rs 23,999 onwards and will go on sale on Flipkart and Xiaomi’s website as well as retail outlets on December 13.

Redmi Note 14 5G

The Redmi Note 14 5G will come with an in-display fingerprint sensor for the first time. The 6.67-inch display offers a peak brightness of 2100 nits with a 120Hz refresh rate. It packs a 5110mAH battery with support for 45W Turbo Charging. According to the company, the base model will also come with certain AI features.

The Redmi Note 14 5G model starts at Rs 17,999 and will go on sale on December 13 on Flipkart and Xiaomi’s website as well as retail outlets.
