SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Shillong lands in Patna after technical glitch India News

A SpiceJet Delhi-Shillong flight was diverted to Patna on Monday morning due to a technical glitch after the windshield cracked.

After the accident, the flight carrying about 75 passengers landed safely at the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport, officials said.

Speaking to a news organization PTIPatna Airport Director Aanchal Prakash said, “The Delhi-Shillong flight of SpiceJet (SEJ-2950) faced a technical problem, which diverted it to the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport here, where it landed safely at 8.52 am on Monday. Alternative arrangements are being made for passengers.” He also assured that the passengers and crew members on board are safe.

“On December 9, 2024, a SpiceJet Q400 aircraft diverted to Patna on its flight from Delhi to Shillong when a windshield crack was noticed. Please note that the windshield has three different layers and only one layer of the particular window had a crack and the diversion was purely a precautionary measure,” a SpiceJet spokesperson said.

The airline denied any kind of emergency landing of the flight. The spokesperson further said, “The aircraft made a normal landing, not an emergency landing. Passengers were disembarked normally. Pressure was normal throughout the flight. “
