20-year-old Punjabi student shot dead in Edmonton Chandigarh News

Edmonton police have charged two men with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 20-year-old security guard Harshandeep Singh at a downtown apartment building Friday morning.

Officers were called to the building near 106 Street and 107 Avenue around 12:30 a.m. after reports of shots fired. They found Singh unresponsive on the stairs. Despite immediate treatment and hospital delivery, he died.

The police seized weapons during the operation and arrested 30-year-old Evan Rain and 30-year-old Judith Salteaux. Officials said that no one else was involved in the incident. Singh’s name was released both to assist in the investigation and to address public safety concerns.

A chilling video purportedly capturing the moments leading up to Singh’s death has surfaced online. The footage shows a man, allegedly Prasha, wielding a large gun and hitting someone off-camera, pushing Singh down the stairs and shooting him in the back as he tries to escape. Police have neither confirmed the authenticity of the video nor provided further details, but said only two people were directly involved in the shooting.

Singh, an Indian student working as a security guard, was patrolling the building when the attack took place. Her death has sent shockwaves through the Edmonton community and her family and friends, who are grieving as the investigation continues.

The police appealed to the public for more information about the incident.
