Minor girl raped in Murshidabad Missing tribal woman found dead in Sandeshkhali pond Kolkata News

In two separate incidents in the last 24 hours in West Bengal, a minor girl was abducted and raped while playing outside her house, while the body of a missing tribal woman was found in a pond.

After a local youth lured a minor girl in Ranipur village of Murshidabad district on Saturday evening, her neighbors accused him of sexually assaulting the girl in the nearby forest.

A friend of the victim’s father said, “I was talking to my father on the roof while the child was playing outside. Suddenly a boy took her in his arms. We followed them and found him after a long time.

The villagers caught the young man and beat him up before handing him over to the police.

Additional Superintendent of Police Majid Iqbal said that the youth has been arrested and is being interrogated.

During the rescue, the child was unconscious and is being treated for serious injuries.

In another incident, an 18-year-old tribal woman was found dead in a pond in Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district, missing for three days. Her body was found with her hands and feet tied, her mouth tied and a brick tied around her waist.

Local residents said they saw her riding a motorcycle with a man in his 30s.

Superintendent of Police Hussain Mehedi Rahman said the murder is being investigated and the real cause of his death will be revealed after the post-mortem report.
