A massive search operation is underway in the Kandi area near the international border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district after local villagers reported suspicious movements, officials said on Sunday.
A joint search operation by police, army and CRPF was launched on Saturday night in several forward villages of Hiranagar area, officials said.
“We received information about the movement of about three to four suspicious persons and immediately responded by mobilizing available resources. The area was also kept under aerial surveillance,” said Shobit Saxena, Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua.
He said that the operation is continuing but the suspect has not yet been found.
