A day after Mohammad Siraj dispatched centurion Travis Head at the Adelaide Oval, things look set to get spicy in the India vs Australia Border Gavaskar Trophy. After giving an excellent inswinging yorker to Head, who was batting at a sensational 140, Siraj pointed Head towards the dressing room and there was an exchange of words.
Siraj appeared on the Star Sports broadcast before the start of the third day’s play in Adelaide, clarifying his position after claiming that Head had what he called ‘good bowling’. In an interview with former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, Siraj denied this. And at the end of the interview, Harbhajan jokingly offered a piece of advice to Siraj, who was recently appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police in his home state of Telangana.
“DSP saab, jab yeh dubara Hyderabad aayenge na to ausha thor aar kar lena (When he comes to Hyderabad to play the IPL, try to arrest him),” Harbhajan said with a smile before quickly adding. “I’m just kidding. I wish you all the best, let’s hope if India can set a target then you can get Travis Head out first ball later. Head of course plays against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

Earlier in the interview, Siraj had said, ‘I enjoyed bowling with him, it was a good fight. He batted well. At the end of the day, as a bowler when he hits your good ball for a six, something stirs in the blood, inside you (smiles) – passion rises. I was celebrating but her misbehavior could be seen on television. If you see, at first I didn’t say a word. Later, at the press conference, he said the wrong thing – he claimed he called me “pretty bold”; But that is a lie. There was no ‘good bowling’ that I could see.
